Kojima's involvement would've definitely given the MGS3 Remake more credibility, but it's hardly surprising he's not involved given the very public fallout between him and Konami. Hopefully the devs can pull a Dead Space Remake or an RE4 Remake and make a fantastic MGS3 remake without the original creator.

Since the old dialogue is still there unchanged, and the level layout appears to be unchanged as well, I’m hoping the most important parts will still be good

I think people don't remember that Kojima has wanted to leave MGS to the next generation for a long time. MGS2 was very much about that with Snake's ending speeches. Konami fallout aside, I believe Kojima would be proud that people are trying to honor his legacy and carry on MGS. The story is gonna be the same, and a lot of the devs of the remake worked on the original Snake Eater. Things may go wrong, but I have faith. The Master Collection will let me play the original if I don't like the remake anyway.

The surprising good news from all this for me is that knowing that the old recordings are going to be used almost guarantees that the story, characters, direction, etc, will be left unchanged. Which is fantastic, with games who are praised for their stories like MGS and Silent Hill, it's best to keep these elements unchanged especially if the remake isn't being developed by the same writers/directors. Still, this is Konami, and with recent baffling news of Konami suing Cygames' Uma Musume over a game mechanic patent, it's clear to me that they're still the same Konami from before, so be wary.

Yong, it's nice to have you back covering metal gear. Just like the good ole days.

Didn't Kojima say he was done with the MGS series anyway?

To play devil's advocate, I've seen people describe MGS1 Twin Snake's as Otacon's retelling of the events from HIS perspective... The guy who compared this to one of his Japanese animes.

Which is VERY accurate with how over the top scenes were

I don’t know if it’s the case with anyone in MGS3, but reusing the old voice lines means that we get to hear the voices of those who passed away once more. I know I’m going to be really happy hearing John Cygan again if and when we get the MGS2 remake.

My biggest fear with this game is they will cut corners and monetize the hell out of this game. I hope they make a complete experience like Capcom has been doing with the resident evil games save 3 but something tells me corporate at Konami will mess it up somehow.

I'm a little conflicted about the voice acting thing. On one hand, those performances were perfect and I don't think they need to be re-recorded, but on the other hand, I also would've loved to have the original cast reprise their roles.
I dunno, Konami not bringing back the original voice actors back feels less like a "it doesn't need too happen" thing and more of a Konami business move thing lol

I cannot explain how happy I am to see yong talking about MGS again. I remember the hay day of MGSV 😁

Atleast he won't be there to replace David Hayter with some Hollywood Actor.

One important issue with re-recording new lines with the original actors is that some notable ones died. The Japanese voice actors for Roy Campbell, Gray Fox, & Liquid Snake and the English voice actor for Solidus Snake have died so it’d be a tall order getting replacements for such iconic roles when this remake project is trying as hard as possible to get in good faith with its consumers

YongYea, you know what? Hearing/watching you talk about MGS is now nostalgic to me. I remember Konami announcing MGSV and because of my obsession to Kojima and his game, I saw your channel in my YT feed and I've watched every single video you upload since then. To my brain, it's no longer possible to hear about MGS without Yong's voice. LMAO

This is all definitely a lot of great news, however I'm still skeptical about Konami's ability to do the original game justice. There are still a ton of different things that can go wrong.

I’m curious if they will use the same soundtrack.

I wouldn’t mind the old osts, but an updated versions of the old music in terms of quality wouldn’t hurt

It’s only a remake if they include the Ape Escape missions.

You do know that Kojima made a back door deal with sony and used part of the mgs5 budget to make that pt trailer they showed which is at least part of the reason they pushed him out.

I think that they are naming it Delta because they are planning to make other remakes if this turns out to be a good game. I also think that if they continue releasing more remakes, they’re probably gonna make them in the chronological order that the story takes place, Snake Eater taking place first

Idk if you heard, but Konami is trying to sue Cygames for allegedly infringing on a game mechanic Konami developed. Don't overlook them, they're still scummy underneath.
