Enjoyed the video! A few points - Any properly driven MH lamp under 400W (Pulse start or not) can be prone to "non-passive end of life" (industry jargon for explosion), but generally only at end of life, and after they've color shifted dramatically. Of course, there is always risk so you should always keep the lens in place... But they don't generally just explode at random. Also, Acrylic is less likely to yellow. Generally speaking, acrylic refractors aren't as strong, but yellow from heat, not UV. Polycarbonate is more impact and heat resistant but will yellow with UV exposure. So as long as it doesn't get too hot (or get broken) the acrylic should be fine for years of use :)

Pulse start metal halide and HPS tend to be quiet. Probe start metal halide and mercury vapor fixtures can get REALLY LOUD tho. Also are the Nema head type bucket lights better quality?. Mercury vapor and prone start metal halide lights get extremely loud as they age for some reason. I’ve seen some metal halide (probably probe start) that was so loud that I was able to hear throughout the whole entire parking lot.

9:13 this style photo switch, the clear plastic cover tends to decenigrates and crumbles with time due to the exposure to the UV from the sun. I've had a couple that failed due to this. Otherwise, it's ok.

The ignitors in these "Yardblasters" are prone to failing because the electronics fail inside of it. Lots of brands made these such as, Regent (Cooper Lighting) Lithonia, and others. You can even take out the igniter and use a mercury lamp in it
