This September, Emma Rice's critically acclaimed Romantics Anonymous sets out on a virtual tour of the UK, hosted by the Belgrade Theatre for one night only on Wed 23 Sep. Broadcast live from Bristol Old Vic, the production has been carefully managed to ensure that it can be performed in full without social distancing, the cast and company forming a bubble ahead of their week-long run .

Funny, tender and painfully awkward, this musical spectacular follows the delicious story of a fragile love affair between a gifted chocolate maker crippled by social anxiety, and the awkward boss of a failing chocolate factory.

Following the success of our exuberant co-production Wise Children in Spring 2019, this dazzling show is presented by Wise Children, Bristol Old Vic and Plush Theatricals. Based on the film Les Émotifs Anonymes, it is adapted and directed for the stage by Emma Rice, with music by Michael Kooman and lyrics by Christopher Dimond.
