On September 6th, 1974, 4 friends from Missoula, Montana who were in their mid 20’s, Amy, Ezra, Lucas and Nicole left to go backpacking in the Flathead National Forest for a week.

Days later Amy was found haggard, walking alone along highway 83. A passerby picked her up and took her to Kalispell where she was dropped off at the sheriff’s station. She was then quickly taken to the local hospital where she was questioned.

What she told the deputies was unbelievable and terrifying. This is her story.

I grew up in rural Maine and spent alot of time hunting, fishing in the forests, I was usually by myself.
Along the way to a brook or pond to fish i would look for blueberry patches or wild blackberry and raspberry bushes or elderberries to eat.
I was 10 or 11 and had went 10 miles away from the house to go fishing...no big deal i was always way out there by myself i found a raspberry bushes sat down started eating raspberries and reading a paperback about 'the legend of boggy creek' (i think)
Never heard of bigfoot before that..anyway i lost track of time it was getting very dark so i started down the hunting trail to the main road and my bike.
Then it was pitch black i couldnt see a thing i had a disposable flashlight..no you couldnt change the battery and it was not rechargeable...the light was nearly dead..of course...piece of crap cost me .75ct at Newberrys!
Then i heard something big crash thru the brush and small trees i couldnt see it but it was big and moving fast right at ne! And it smelled like a skunk..i ran as fast as i could but it jumped on my back and it was heavy and knocking me to the ground! I start screaming and shrieking trying to crawl away and run again so i rolled over on my back hoping i could push it off..now im terrified its BIGFOOT!!!...Nope..when i reached out to push its head away and grabbed the neck..i felt a collar...it was a Dog!! I thought it HAD ti be Bigfoot trying to eat my face!...he got off me so i turned my flashlight on and saw it was a giant Great Dane!..further it was my Dad's dog! I dont know how he got out of the house or even found me..i had never brought him with me out that far...he stunk! He had found a skunk and decided to mess around with it and he got sprayed..and now he just rubbed the stink all over me too!...i hated that dog for about 5 seconds..but also relieved it wasnt bigfoot

It had to be quite large to be able to carry/drag both girls & two guys!
I believe her story. Things exist in our forests we've never been warned about!

Different strokes for different folks.. never saw the enjoyment of camping and this story proves the point. Love nature but love my bed and my shower more. You’re outdoing yourself. I’m already hyped up for Halloween.
