I'm an Aussie wife is Ethiopian we both in live work in Bahrain with family love the place easy and comfortable lived in Dubai both equally hot in summer....investing on property is an option to stay long terms as my employment contract is coming to an end. Plus good place to park money until we know what to do. As Australia has become too much of an expensive option ...Tax free here except VAT...its also close to Saudi the next business hub ...Bahrain has potential and safe.

Bahrain has a very strong currency, but Kuwait's and Oman's currencies are also very strong. In fact the Kuwaiti Dinar is the strongest currency in the world. These Arabian Gulf countries are the best places to go when you want to make money. Good salaries and no income tax, you can get wealthy in a relatively short space of time, if you have secured a good job in any of these countries.

The term deposit Andrew mentioned is no longer required, the permit will be issued for you and your family with only a 50k+ BHD property title.

There is no social insurance deduction for expat employees. Social insurance deduction is similarly to pension scheme, it’s only deducted from Bahraini nationals.
I have lived in this lovely island for more than 7 years and it’s liberal in many ways . For banking you can also use HSBC which has global expat program which allows free transfer between different HSBC accounts you own around the world.
It is very easy to setup a 100% foreign owned WLL or SPC and get 2 years investors visa by spending just a few thousand USD. Being a US ally, Bahrain has multiple business activities that are only allowed for US citizens. Also there is a US navy base and considerable French language options if that’s your thing.
Despite being in the Middle East, Bahrain’s night life is perfect for person with western background.
If you just need a property for the sake of visa, I saw there are small studio units just for around 25000 Bahraini Dinars (65K USD) Rental market is affected nowadays due to Covid, but that’s common everywhere I guess. Let me know if you need any other info :)

Bahrain is one of the best places to live in the Gulf. Lived there for 2+ years and had a really nice time. This is a good option for living in this region.

Thanks for this. I was hoping you would touch more on opportunities on that region. I know many, looking at the comments on this video don’t like the idea of Muslim Middle Eastern countries, but there are plenty people, like myself, who actually want to live in such environments and regions. Even me, who was raised a Christian, prefer muslim countries than western ones. Personal preference, so no hate please anyone.

Andrew I wish you had a mini shipping container house contact, you can ship them anywhere, open them up and your house is inside. This option doesn’t include construction, 500 sq feet, $25000.00 house. Drop one in a forest or on a roof as a penthouse. I’m doing this when the economy opens. Canada has an excessive amount of shipping containers since we import so much more than we export. 25 million containers in Montreal...$5k each.

If you are 55+ there is also a retirement visa in Dubai now available. But residence visa via property investment is still better as it starts at aed1mln. I’d say Dubai is way safer, more diverse, tolerant and more things to do.

I read about a similar programme in the Sultanate of Oman, it would be good if you could tell us more about this. I have visited Oman several times in the past, when I used to work in Dubai and I find the Omanis are friendlier to outsiders(I'm English) compared to the reception that some of the people from other Gulf countries give foreigners.

Because of it's land size, there's also much more to see in Oman, in contrast to the much smaller countries in the region, like Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the UAE. There are plenty of interesting places to visit in Oman.

Love Bahrain! I went to Manama a few years back. It’s actually a pretty decent place to live from the looks of it. I had a great time and I love the fact that you can fly to other countries very easily. Dubai is only 1.5 hours away which is amazing!
