You are so brave. In 2019 I was in Norway visiting my cousin and 2 nephews and I never imagined how harmful this situation has been. That's why they told me "Kids belongs first to the system then to parents". No, kids belongs first to their parents and last to their parents". Totally changed my mind about this "caring" system. I'm from Costa Rica.

In Spain, not long ago, a minister said that we can't think that kids belong to their parents... It's very dangerous to let our politicians say things like that. Here, in Spain, our system isn't that radical and I hope it never get there.

As european, I looked to Norway with respect. I had been there traveling, people looked polite, food was good, cities (maybe not Oslo) clean and quiet, it's a big country with plenty of nature. I could even think of living there. I didn't knew about that Barnevernet. Certainly, Norway will never feel to be Europe if does not get rid of this dirty business.

Very well said, I think the main issue here is that "Barnevernet" should support the parents of the child having the "issue" and not just act and take the children without proper investigatión and proper support to the parents, supporting does not mean taking your child away from his/her parents, that is wrong as principle. Looks like "Barnevernet" has far too much power and probably is because there are many jobs depending on it like Foster homes, etc... Good luck Maja and I totally support you, unfortunately that is one of the reasons why I left Norway.... 👍✌️

In Canada the children's aid society does the same. They have all the power they want. There are conflicts of interests to get budget and make children available for adoption. In my case, the judge said "the goal is to get CAS out of your lives". That says something...

How terrifying it is when you do not have the means to protect yourself and your family against an allmighty state. Even when the intentions of Barnevernet funtionaires might be good, there should be control mechanisms in place to make sure no abuses or mistakes are made, since this will traumatize the whole family for the rest of their lives. Hopefully Norwegian authorities will have a closer look into this

Well done girl. I am from latin america. I feel so sorry for peopple there. You must get more peopple to fight against that sistem. The human rights must be respect. Yoy will need to get lawyers aut of Noruega to start a process.
