After having a play on the Roland 71 the first thing that struck me was the noticeable difference and onboard sounds from TD 50X and how much more realistic the sounds are. Having Soundworks included is a huge step forward and for the first time they’ve stepped into realm dominated by SD3 I thought. Wouldn’t be surprised to see a SD4 this year imo. The Rendrix Drum Module is the star of the show here. I hope it can live up to the expectations. Really interesting concept.

Also, I really hope that Pearl announces a successor for the Pearl Mimic Pro this year. It is hands down still the best sounding module out there. It would be amazing to get an updated version.

I've had the Simmons Titan 70 for 15 months now. The pads, cymbals and kick drum/hardware are working just fine. The Hi Hat cymbal is discolored where it's played but other than that, the entire kit is really like new. During that time, I had to re-tighten the stand a bit but honestly, other than that - the kit rocks. I play every day for about 30-45 minutes. I feel that for the price point, it can't be beat. I have played hi end Roland kits and yes, they are just amazing all the way around, and one day I will get one. It's like this. The Simmons Titan 70 is a Ford F-150 XL and the Roland is a Ford F-150 Lariat.

justin! maybe you should start measuring decibels of every edrum you come across. you're in a unique position to be able to play a large amount of edrums and i think it would a great contribution to edrum information out there. plus im guessing you'd be the only person doing that. im sure a lot of people would love that information. great video and love your work as always!

For anyone who is debating on the Alexis strata prime, I love it very much just got it like 5 days ago and I have no issues ONLY BECAUSE you really do need to fine tune everything like all seriousness you need to spend time working on how sensitive you want your drums to be, its a great hella fun kit just needs a ton of work to get it there👍👍😎

You showed some interesting items Justin. As an old fart who owned a simmons sds8 and sds9, I liked the idea of new versions. I remember Bill Bruford during the Yes union tour with a monster rack of them. I wonder if they can make a hexagonal mesh head version?
