"Fat" and "obese" aren't the same thing. The very definition of "obese" is that of a person whose body mass reached unhealthy levels. It's literally unhealthy by definition. It's as if someone complained that "malnourished" is discriminatory against slim persons.

People need to stop calling facts about obesity fat shaming

The stigma around discussing the risks of obesity and its glorification will just worsen the problem.

At the end the symbol that he showed for medicine was actually the wrong symbol (common mistake though). The symbol shown was the scepter of Hermes, recognizable with the two serpents. However, the official symbol for medicine is a scepter with just one snake, or the scepter of Asclepius.

The second one makes the Economist come off as a magazine for people who desperately want to feel superior to those around them

I'm obese and I'm not offended by researchers and doctors saying its not healthy. That's why I'm working on it!

Note: Took me years to figure out the trick is to change so slowly it feels lazy when you start. Then when it's a habit, add something more.

I now eat one meal a day, am off sugar, and eat a big salad everyday. I am losing weight.

There's nothing wrong with being a management trainee at age 42. Its more ambition than I have, lol.

It is a fact that cancer can be caused by obesity. That is not fat shaming. Going up to a random person, or commenting on an obese person and telling them out of the blue that they will get cancer and unnecessary and therefore fat shaming. There’s a difference.
