Good video. I have two NAS currently online. I had one NAS that failed and I had to replace it.

I am using that model DS216j for our audio files and Audio Projects. I replaced the HDD about 3 times. I was running out of space. I don't have any audio files or projects saved on our pc in the sound room. I have a solid state recorder that record's to SD Card. After it is done recording it auto ftp the file to a folder on the Nas. Plus I have it setup that it sync to my Synology rackmount server at the house so that I can work on the projects here at the house. I use Reaper 7 as my DAW at the church for recording and here at home. I record anything to the nas directly. Now I am looking at the DS224+ for replacing the DS216j. The Ds216j is getting slow for me. I have the Ugreen Dxp6800 Plus model that I am trying out too. On the Ugreen Nas, there Gui is about the same as synology but less app and features then Synology. Since I got it, Ugreen had several Updates to their Nases.

I've got the DS223j and a TerraMaster at home and was in the process of deciding whether to go with a NAS or network streaming server.

You pretty much highlighted why a NAS made more sense. Now to decide which one.

I'm leaning towards a ZimaBlade NAS Kit which with a couple of 4GB drives will run about $500 with CasOS or Proxmox.

My biggest challenge is figuring out how much storage I need. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the tutorial AJay. I got the 723 last fall and did not get it registered properly. When activating 2FA, things got rough - cannot access all of their programs. Do I need to wipe it clean to start over? It is working great as a BU for the pc, and very quiet.
