Crafted for Schrade by Griffin Design to take on the toughest bushcraft and camping chores to tactical applications, the SCHF42D Frontier is forged from a single piece of 1095 high carbon steel that is coated with a durable, resilient and silky smooth PTFE.
Honed razor sharp, the SCHF42D sports a 5.1 inch full fine edge that stands tough during batoning and chopping tasks, while the primary bevel extends to the spine making slicing, precision cutting jobs and fire building chores (like making feather sticks) a breeze.
The spine drops to meet the edge and form a strong and sharp point - perfect for piercing, drilling and other detail work.
The nearly indestructible desert tan grivory handle is contoured to match the dynamics of the human hand, reducing fatigue and hot spots when using a knife for an extended period of time.
Grip is aided by spine side jimping and forward handle flairs.
The full tang travels between the handle slabs and terminates with a notched and rounded pommel designed for scraping bark, processing tinder and grinding other organic materials. Run paracord or leather though the generous lanyard hole for additional security.
Belt carry the SCHF42D in the embossed, saddle tan, leather sheath. A detachable handle strap with branded steel snap is provided for those who want to keep their knife locked in the sheath when the terrain gets rough.

I have the SCHF42 and LOVE IT! It's my main knife that I carry with me every time I go out into the woods. I don't mind the recurve in the original but think that Schrade is awesome that they listen to their customers opinions to make a version without a recurve. I can't wait to get my hands on the SCHF42D!
