A Look Inside Female Engagement Teams (FET)

The men and women in the Marine Corps who fight our Nation’s battles are responsible for carrying the legacy of the Marines before them. The “Female Engagement Teams” (FETs) were one of the most important assets in the Marine Corps' counterinsurgency strategy in Afghanistan. FETs were able to engage segments of the population that male Marines could not interact with due to cultural traditions and customs.

It is totally unwarranted and wrong of you to judge a unit by the actions of a few. Personally I find it difficult to believe that the incidents you describe actually took place primarily due to the Corps "No women in combat" stance. You stated she was assigned to a Fire Team, the smallest combat unit in the Corps, but a Marine combat unit nevertheless. Making unsubstantiated accusations concerning the Marines sexual preference, and especially her CO's is a dangerous and stupid act.

@7waystosunday I agree 100%. It hurts seeing a friend wounded or killed. However, I would go completely feral on the enemy if I saw someone wound or kill a female Marine. God have mercy on anyone that is foolish enough to try, because the male Marines will not.
