What’s happening in this movie clip?
Zach (Dylan Minnette), Hannah (Odeya Rush) and Champ (Ryan Lee) take refuge in the Ferris wheel so that Zach can finish writing the manuscript, so that all the monsters disappear from the real world and R.L. Stine is saved. Then Zach has to open the book for it to work. However, by doing this, Hannah will find herself stuck in it too. Zach opens the manuscript and all the creatures are thrown into it one by one. He holds Hannah because he doesn't want her to go. They kiss and they let go.

What’s the movie about?
Zach Cooper (Dylan Minnette) and his mother move to a small town in Delaware. He meets Hannah (Odeya Rush), a pretty neighbor. But the girl's father forbids her to see him. One day, Zach hears screams in her house, so he decides, with the help of his new friend Champ (Ryan Lee), to break into her house to rescue her. There, they discover a large library filled with sealed manuscripts from the Goosebumps series. Driven by curiosity, Zach unlocks one, which has the unfortunate effect of freeing the creature trapped inside, the Abominable Snowman of Pasadena. They successfully chase it to send it back into the manuscript, but Mr. Shivers, aka R.L. Stine, author of the Goosebumps series, realizes another book had been unlocked. This time, it’s Slappy the Dummy, real evil, who has been released, and he let all the other monsters in the library out on the city. Zach, Hannah, Champ and Stine must do everything to avoid dramatic consequences.

I love how the book’s pull is much more softer and gentle when Hannah is sucked in, compared to the monsters

Fun facts:

The blob that ate everyone is actually a big heart shaped, veiny monster with a long tongue and black hollow eyes.

The werewolf of fever swamp is only a twelve year old boy. But it's not confirmed in the movie whether it's the main character or the boy who was actually the werewolf in the book.

The abominable snowman of pasadena is only the size of an average twelve year old child in the book. And it broke the vending machine in the movie because it is attracted to sweets like in the book where it's also attracted by trail mix twice.

The lawn gnomes weakness is actually dog whistles. In the book, they freeze if one is blown.

The giant praying mantis is a freaking robot built for a horror theme park. The description of the giant praying mantis from a shocker on shock street is actually silver and metallic and it shoots black goop to trap the main characters of the book.

The jack o lanterns headed monsters from attack of the jack o lanterns are freaking aliens.

The lord high executioner is actually different looking in the book. While he looks like a regular executioner, he actually looks like someone straight out of assassin's creed. He wears a black robe with a cape and a wide black hat.

And the credits at the end of the movie are actually cover arts for the books. Including welcome to dead house, say cheese and die, ghost beach, the scarecrow walks at midnight, revenge of the lawn gnomes, a shocker on shock street, the abominable snowman of pasadena, the werewolf of fever swamp, night of the living dummy, and attack of the jack-o-lanterns.

And also when slappy said: "I've been saving this monster just for you." it actually is very poetically well done and very well delivered and only people who read the blob that ate everyone can guess why. Because in the book, the blob that ate everyone is actually a monster that was created by a magic typewriter. (Spoiler: But apparently, it was the main protagonist who has the power, not the typewriter or the pen in the book.) And what do we have here in the movie is none other thana magic typewriter that makes whatever story it makes real. Believe me guys, the moment this scene played, my true-goosebumps geekness side literally exploded on how they pulled it off in the movie.

I always thought Hannah dying was poetic in a way. Since she nearly captures the Abominable Snowman near the beginning, and is the last one to get sucked into the book, it really feels like Stine's Monsters were the Virus, and Hannah was the Cure.

The reason why slappy opened the blob that ate everyone last is because in the book, it is created by a boy who found a magical typewriter that turns whatever's been typed in makes it real. And this is so incredibly satisfying only to a goosebumps fans standpoint.

Spoiler Alert: At the end of the movie, they end up forgetting about Brent Green/The Invisible Boy, in which he wasn't sucked back into the book.
