ABOUT HEALTHY GAMER:
Traditional healthcare hasn’t caught up to the digital generation and the unique mental health challenges your child faces. That’s because academic medicine typically moves 4 to 5 years behind real life.

Healthy Gamer’s direct experience working with thousands of gamers empowers parents to address what’s going on in your child’s life right now. That’s why the majority of Healthy Gamer’s first parent users were medical professionals, educators, or academics themselves.

Dr. Alok Kanojia is the world expert on video game psychology.

I was alexithymic because I grew up with a raging, abusive mother with alcoholism and personality disorder traits, including narcissism and BPD and even OCPD etc... and around age 16 when YouTube came on my radar (YouTube didn't exist till I was 15) I turned to fanvideo editing (video editing TV show clips set to music) as an escape much like most people turn to video games. When younger I'd also obsessively read fiction as an escape I think. My mom's abuse included gaslighting around my emotions too, not letting me feel whatever I feel and treating my feelings as unacceptable instead of teaching me around them. Good, healthy parents teach us what our emotions are when we're young. They name them for us. They validate whatever it is we're feeling. I was taught very different lessons.

I am alexithymic. I’ve found a few different ways to cope.
-telling people my best approximation and letting them give me different approximations that I can confirm or deny until we come to a nearly complete feeling
-or assigning certain approximations to colors, outfits, socks, nail polish, etc. and combining them until whatever it is is outside by body and I don’t have to store them since I can’t really talk about it.

However, I think this isn’t learning what my feels are, but just learning how to cope with the inability of identification.
You should NEVER recommend to any parent that they should take away coping mechanisms unless it’s harming them. They will never learn to identify them. Instead teach kids “gamers” how to cope with feelings in a way that works best for them and helps to externalize their emotions.

I know this is contrary to the whole topic, but I thought it was funny. How would I know what am I eating if my tongue was numb and I was trying to cook food and experience new taste well for one sounds of the crunching or the squishing the aroma of the food, and if I couldn’t feel texture with my mouth, I would feel it with my hands lol

Can I get a study or 2 sourcing this information? Because if you can't cite your information, then it's not considered factual information. Where's the clinical trials? The studies? You sound like you're spilling BS to parents who want their child to stop playing video games. Get over yourself.
