I think the loss of the dark saber is character growth for Bo-Katan. She now has the confidence to rule Mandalor on the sole legitimacy of her honor, loyalty and character.

They rushed multiple items, but I could see a reforging of the Darksaber or at least a re-use of the crystal.

That’d be awesome! But I saw it as more symbolic. That Mandos rely too much on symbols and should rely more on character and all the things Din mentioned in ep7. I think it’s better left destroyed for now. Unless it’s reforaged for Grogu later.

When Cal Kestis' saber was crushed by the ghost of his master, the crystals were also destroyed. It was a similar amount of damage by a similar crushing motion.

While I agree that we haven't seen the last of the Darksaber, it is still a lightsaber, and by convention can only be properly assembled by someone trained in the force. I suspect it will be a nonfunctional relic until Grogu eventually reassembles it.

I'd be very surprised if the Mandalorians were able to (re)construct a lightsaber. It has always been portrayed as a delicate art, which only a few groups of advanced force wielders were able to perform. Maybe The Armorer could craft the basics, but I suspect that a force wielder would have to be involved to make the crystal work properly. That leaves exactly ONE Mandalorian potentially qualified to do it... Grogu.

Of course, I've suspected that Grogu will eventually be THE Mandalorian, of the title, ever since The Armorer told Din Djarin that they were a "clan of two" back in the first season. The breaking of the Darksaber and the scene of him 'connecting' with the Mythosaur (the riding of which is the other great symbol of Mandalorian rule) in the most recent episode both just reinforce that view.

I mean as long as they repair it idc, well mainly because that lightsaber has so much history and meaning.

This is actually a prime opportunity to see what the crystal looks like, assuming it even is one. It's one-of-a-kind, so I'm very curious to see.

In the Ashoka trailer, we saw that lightsabers droid who helped younglings assemble them. It would be pretty cool if he had an opportunity to examine it.

i always thought that the dark saber was more a symbol than a weapon since no mandalorian so far other than tar vizla as ever wielded the force meaning that in my humble opinion if they make a new dark saber they might actually make different hilt to put the crystal in to fit whoever wield its like in my opinion considering grogu species long live that the dark saber will one day be his

I think what went wrong with season 3 was the firing of Gina Carano.

Cara Dune was a major character and they were forced to change what they had planned because of her absence.

Basically imagine if they removed snape or Ron in one of the Harry Potter movies in the middle of the movie that would cause chaos

So question, If in Book of Boba they say that the Dark Saber is more pure than Din's Armour, and Pure Baskar is seemingly indestructible in armour and spear form, so how come the Saber breaks? seems a bit dumb to me but interested to see what becomes of the crystal and maybe if Grogu gets it.

Even though Grogu isn't a Jedi, I believe he can rebuild the Darksaber as a step in his Force training! It's part of Jedi training, and I believe, and Sith training, to build a lightsaber.

Tbh I liked it. The prophecy was that the Darksaber will unite the Mandalorians and it did.
Maybe they'll craft a new one. Maybe Grogu will use the crystal for his lightsaber. Maybe Ahsoka will help them get access to more kyber crystals and they form a lightsaber wielding royal guard. We'll see what happens

New ship = more toys
New armour = more toys
New sabre = more toys
And that just equals more money.
