Wait a second... if she drove her car to get to this shop, then why she didn't show her driver's license instead of her ID?

She did make a valid point tho if she has tattoos she's probably over 15 😅

I feel this. I once got ID’d for a cooking mama game, and the woman who needed my id tried to get my mother (since we were shopping together) to use her ID because she didn’t think I was old enough. When I pulled my ID out the look on her face was pure shock.

Still not sure why cooking mama would require an ID though…

It must be annoying as hell but please don't take it out on the employees. They are forced to enforce these policies. It is the managers that you have beef with not the employees making minimum wage

I got ID when buying fifa, which is pegi 3.... I said to the woman, that the fact we are having a coherent conversation shows I'm older than 3 years old. She couldn't understand the principle and denied the sale

This happened to me at the DMV today. I had to show my old ID to prove I was over 18 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’m waaaay over 18, I just have a baby face that makes me look 16 lol 😂 I’m in my mid 30’s but apparently I look like a teenager and the old dude waiting on me whispered twice how beautiful I was and to remember that and it creeped me out. 70 year old men especially employees should NOT be hitting on younger women. That’s disgusting 🤮

I worked at a gas station when I was young and had a girl come in that looked 19/20 and ask for the most popular cigarette at the time. I was the only one there and the line was long, so I just sold them to her without asking for ID. Ten minutes later, a cop comes in and explains it was a sting and I had to get a manager to come in and handle it. I told them that they needed to get me some help and having one person working in a gas station was ridiculous.

if they said "well I probably will tell your manager" I'd call up the manager & let them decide if it's okay to sell it or just not sell it to them

The mall I used to work at had an “under 18 must have adult over 21 accompanying” policy, and I got stopped on my 15-min break by overzealous security guard who thought I was 16. I was 23 and worked at one of the stores; I had my associates’ lanyard and my name tag on still…more than ample proof I was over 18. (I left my wallet in the store cuz I was just running to the newsstand to grab myself and the boss drinks.)
But that didn’t stop this dingus from dragging me to the security office to “call my mother to come get me” and talking down to me like I was a child. Instead, I called my boss who was wondering where I was cuz I was almost 45 min late coming back from a 5 min run.
she came barging into the security office like a mad (pregnant) woman and not only ripped the guard a new one, but also his boss for allowing this guy to harass and detain me. It was very entertaining.

I went to Walmart and bought Red Dawn (the 1984 one) on dvd at self checkout and a lady working there said “you have to be over 18 to buy rated R movies for some reason. It’s fine, I’ll just let you buy it”

Absolute legend.

I'm actually obsessed with how many brands you've worked for, the work uniforms are always on point

This happened to me too once. I was 37 years old, the cashier was probably around 18 or so. It was so annoying. I left and came back 10 minutes later with my ID, and she didn’t even look at it.

I remember being newly 17 and getting ID'd for a 15 DVD literally 5 mins after the woman asking me how old I was (had a birthday badge on) so my friend ended having to buy it for me 😂

We got ID'd for buying screwdrivers before. We were told it's because they could be used as a weapon. Except by that logic basically anything could be used as a weapon.

There's no discussion to be had here. If you want to buy an age controlled item, bring ID, a grown adult shouldn't even be leaving home without it. If you can't manage that level of responsibility then you don't get the item.

A minimum wage employee *is not* gonna risk *their job* and a potential *£100+* fine plus legal repercussions for your convenience.

The policy everywhere is that if you are not undeniably over 25 in appearance, then the clerk is legally responsible to ask for physical photo ID - once they have asked they *cannot* change their minds *they legally have to see ID* to sell to you.

People are so aggressive when they don’t get their way. Like we’re just trying to do our hourly wage job.
