Since very few have been talking about Swedish dansband music in the Vinyl Community I thought i'd fill the void with some of my thoughts. It is one of the music styles that it is totally okay to "hate" and be scornful about and I don't think the music style deserves all that, especially since it is also a very much loved music genre, even if the lovers of it rarely open their mouths about it, since it will provoke the active dansband haters and music pundits. Anyway, I've chosen five dansband albums that I find very listenable and I'm telling you why, and also talk about the dansband, it's history and so on. Just to spread some knowledge, since this is a music genre that is little known outside Scandinavia.

The third video is about the Osby based dansband Wizex and their album "Spanska Ögon" from 1990.

Actually you are the reason why I started my modest collection of dansband. Wizex and Kikki is among those who are really good.

I love sounds of dance (iskelmä) artists in 70's but in 90's when they started doing music with computers... There was great artists but they made records like on assembly line. Finnish artist Anna Eriksson was really good singer (and still is). But her albums sounds... Oh my. Then she started dating with onw "punk rocker" and THEY made for these albums 1 or 2 really great songs with good sounds. I'd like to hear more 70's style dansmusik or iskelmä, also nowdays.
