After watching this video as an ESL learner of English, all I can say is that if we were taught narrative tenses the way presented here, we wouldn't have any problems with them. The timeline isn't that complicated for me. Now it's a lot of practice and hopefully, there will come a day when all those forms will come out confidently, without hesitation.
