I just love how Nick's menacing growls fits the music perfectly. And I must say, snare and overall drum production adds a stunningly gloomy atmosphere on this record. It just works for me so damn well.

Pieces like Gods of the Ancient, From the Gallows are next classic PL songs, comparing them to the first 4 albums. Yet, they sound fresh and are not just a simple return to the old. And other songs from Medusa are very good, too, mixing different solutions from the albums before The Plague Within with heavier sound. Can't wait to hear it live!

I love how even today you never know what to expect from PL next...as recently as 6 years ago I said it's impossible they'll ever play death-doom again. It's impressive that being so deep into their discography they haven't gotten complacent and are still trying new things to give their albums a distinct identity.
