The named zombies are Infected Players, hence why they're named and the reference to Techno.

Some tips to help, start a world without it installed and get geared up, helps to combat it when you eventaully install it

"Prepare..." mean that there is a Proto-hivemind and that a Calamity class mob will spawn soon

They are weak to the cold, so build a base in a tundra and you'll have the upper hand

Also your living armor didnt break, the Wendigo (as that hyper-evolved is named) has the ability to take off your armor when he hits you (the armor just dropped to the ground as an item). Used to be the weakest hyper in the mod but it's honestly a little but unbalanced now...
