FIRNI | Afghan Custard
Dessert
INGREDIENTS:
- Whole milk | 7 cups
- Sugar | 1 cup or to taste
- Cornstarch | 5 tbsp
- Cardamom | 1 tbsp
- Rose water | 1 tbsp
HERE IS ALL YOU NEED TO DO:
- Boil milk over medium heat. Stirring ever few mins.
- Once the milk is boiled start by adding 1/2 cup of sugar first and add more if you need too. Stir for few mins.
- In a small bowl add cornstarch and cold milk. Mix well.
- Add cornstarch slurry to the boiled milk. Whisk constantly to avoid lumps and burning.
- Cook until the mixture thickens.
- Remove from heat and ladle into serving dishes.
- Let it cool down. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate.
- Sprinkle with ground pistachios and enjoy!
