Fedora 33 was released recently, and I decided to take a look at it and give it a review. Unfortunately, I came away less than impressed and in this review I talk about some of the things that I felt could've been better.

Don't dock Fedora for not putting their logo on everything. That's a good thing

I feel like I just watched The Verge review Fedora.

Why is 'the least amount of branding' compared to Ubuntu and others something that's a negative in your book?

The actual quote from fedora is “It’s geared towards software developers who want a “just works” experience.”

I'm your subscriber near 2 years and that is video, first video where i down vote.. why? Title is Fedora review, you do gnome review nothing more. No word about kernel 5.8, oom - out of mana function, zram - no hdd swap but first RAM swao in emergency situations, nothing about remove python 2.x and 3.4 or 3.6, nothing about virtualization qemu/kvm, Fedora tool box alias their docker implementation... Just another gnome review :(( Fedora is open source like Debian and offers closed software as only add nonfree rpm fusion, nothing about copr... Nothing that features from Fedora will be in rhell 8.2.. nothing about BTRFS as new standard if default partitioning... You're a professional Linux YouTuber so maybe more technical information next time? Thx for up but this is not you're good video.. Just my few cents.

11:07 "Who is this distribution for? Pretty much no one" Are you serious?

Literally the POINT is that its a default version, nothing touched, just default gnome

The idea behind Fedora's repo is that its all free dude. It takes 5 minutes to get a theme and run the command to enable RPM fusion

Comparing apples with oranges ... this “review” misses the point in so many levels ... the reviewer gets a banana prize for that ....

Hello Jay
I like pure GNOME. Thanks to Fedora they don't spoil it with unnecessary add-ons.

I'm a Manjaro developer and work with the gnome edition. Fedora is one of my favorite distros besides Manjaro, and it's what I use at work. Technology stack is similar to servers I maintain, and the lack of customization is actually a boon when I want to stay focused on work instead enjoyment. It also has the best out of the box experience with industry standard tools like vmware. It just works and stays out of my way. I wouldn't use it on my own machine, but it sure is good as a workstation.

Fedora is also a major technological innovator that other distros benefit from. I'm quite thrilled about their move to btrfs, it's a significant improvement over lvm.

This is one of the poorest reviews I've ever seen by a "reviewer". And I use Debian. It is more of a cry session than a review.

Arch's biggest feature is AUR and it's 3rd party. Yet it's a hassle to enable rpm fusion?

Also fedora doesn't ship with any non Foss software also some Foss software and they have clearly explained why. From your view then Debian is horrible.
These biased reviews really don't help users.
Sure you love Ubuntu and it's derivatives but this should not be reflected in other products you review.

So Fedora isn't useful for gaming because you have to enable optional repositories for steam and Nvidia? Okay I suppose, you're entitled to you opinion.

I actually prefer the stock/bland approach using it as a workstation. I don't want themes or special branding - that's where I stay away from Pop/Mint.

I absolutely love this release of Fedora personally. The only thing I dislike is adding RPM Fusion to install ffmpeg.

I use fedora for stability, security and simplicity. Fedora is for everyone from beginners to advance. No matter what you want fedora offers everything. I love fedora for toolbox, spins, everything edition and best battery life out of box.

I actually switched from POP OS to Fedora 33, the best decision I made. You obviously have no clue about Fedora and should probably do some more research before you review it.

You had me when complaining about the installation process....which you even admit works without issue. I hope you got a nice kickback from Canonical.
