Oculus Rift Hands-On

Oculus is looking to revolutionize gaming with their Virtual Reality 3D headset, the Oculus Rift. Scott recently sat down with founder Palmer Luckey to discuss how the headset functions, what inspired him to create it, and when a consumer version might be available. The separate screens mean the eyes are focused at a distance rather than close up like a monitor, so it is supposedly better than standard screens.

This with ArmA 3 and ArmA 2 along with DayZ here and there! ultimate immersion.

The optics in the Rift focus the screen at infinity, so looking through the Rift is like looking at something in the distance, not right in front of your face.

Ocolus is a display, not a gaming consule, so yes, it can display anything

i could imagine this would be great for office jobs. Imagine haveing unlimited space. Productivity would be up by 20 percent by the fact that information can be accessed so easily.

they offer 3 different lenses with the developers kit, and its possible to use it with some glasses. If you are farsighted, you can just take off your glasses and use the default lenses, they include 2 strengths of nearsighted lenses.

I can't figure out why the VR technology move this slowly. It is clearly the future for gaming and other forms of visual entertainment. Iplayed one prototype FPS game in a tech expo 16 years ago and it was soo good thought in a couple of years all tech will be on VR. Yet all that time passed and we still don't have practical affrodable versions in the market. Come on tech companies, give up those game consoles and 3D flatscreen tvs, we need these VR headsets ASAP!!!
