Other ways pickpockets steal your stuff

1.signing a fake donation thing, a person will approach you and ask if you could donate and they will have a friend pretending to be a bystander and steal your money while signing the donation thing.

2. The group of pickpockets, They will come in groups of about 5-10 people and pretend like it's crowded and will surround who they think is rich and one or two of them will steal the money

The last one actually happened to me. I was for the first time in London and decided to get some food on my own. My boyfriend literally asked me like three times if he didn't need to come with me. I told him, "No I'll be fine. Its a few minutes walk and I'll call with my sister on the way." He said that was fine.

Result: Twenty meters outside the hotel, two boys on electric fatbikes snatched my phone out of my hand. I couldn't do anything because they were so fast. Got the exact location of their apartment a few days later via the find my samsung feature. Police didn't do ANYTHING.


I secured my phone now a lot better, and I'm always aware of my surroundings. I learned my lesson the hard way.

As a side note, when you pull out money to give to homeless, other people will see you do that and will target you for theft (if the initial person doesn’t just snatch your wallet)

My grandma was a victim of the drive by.she said she was walking home and a random teenage boy tried to grab her purse but as he grabbed it he pushed her and she fell.she came home crying and bruised
