This dimmer is the exact product I've been looking for, for 4 or 5 months. So pleased to see one actually existed. It has replaced the existing one and looks identical - the wife will definitely be pleased. It's now purchased and installed and I'm happy to confirm there's no buzzing - something I have experienced from a regular dimmer switch in the past - extremely annoying for me, but completely outside of the hearing range of the wife

Candeo also just sells the bare dimmer module for installation in place of an existing mains dimmer switch, which improves the WAF even further because it means you can reuse your silver/chrome/brass dimmer faceplate and knob rather than the plain white plastic fitting.

Hi Paul, loved the format of the feature today. A great update from the usual script. As always the content and presentation is fantastic.

I've had the WiFi Candeo dimmer switch installed for about a month now. It was a little bit expensive at £36 but it is brilliant. Took seconds to install, only a few clicks to set up and it has been working flawlessly. I also love the simple design - it looks identical to the old standard dimmer it replaced.

I remember years ago with the old x-10 system they had dimmable lamp modules. I'm really glad to see it coming back, it's a missed opportunity that's really needed. Cheaper than changing all the bulbs to smart bulbs just to dim it and easier to control too.

Dimmable Plug Socket: In truth, I understand why more of these aren't made (because people would put them on fans and that's not how you do that). Nonetheless, for exactly the reason you gave, it is awesome to have at least one.
Dimmable non-neutral light switch: I'll admit, this is sort of the "holy grail" of smart switches, not just because they don't require massive sparky skills to put in, but also because of the "wife proof" aspect you mention. It's not just those of us who have gone down that rabbit hole called Home Assistant, but even those of us who've dabbled in smart devices and also, surprisingly have continued to have spouses, that need this kind of thing. My wife is OK with the light switches that stay in the middle. (You still flip them up for on and down for off, but they don't stay in position, so you don't get confused when you programmatically switch them.) She didn't like the hidden-behind-the-dumb-switch ones because all the switches started to act like 3-way (or 2-way if you like) switches and had to flip the switch in whatever direction it could go to do whatever it wasn't doing. (Up and down became as meaningless as they are on the ISS.)
Doesn't need a hub: Honestly, if more people did this sort of thing, those who were up until recently referred to as the ZigBee Aliance, wouldn't have had as much reason to push their yet-another-standard, but that's a Matter for another time.
No buzz: As I understand it, the reason that bulbs and dimmers buzz when they dim is because they're not dimming by sending less current, but by sending it less often. Specifically, they send short pulses of current. It sounds like Candeo is using a variation of Electronic Low Voltage dimming which eliminates the buzzing. However, I've never seen one of those without a neutral wire. We're back to Candeo is doing something no one else has done yet. And seriously, anything that allows you to throw a Philips [Cue vomiting sounds] product in a bin is a plus right there.
Pushing the button 6 times in quick succession: Ok. I like that it's something I'm not likely to do by accident (Although I must say there is someone in our house that might just do this if the lights didn't respond immediately.) Also, as much as I'd like to have manufacturers include a sort of dedicated pairing button, I can also see why they don't do that to reduce cost.
Now if they'd only make a U.S.-style product and sell it in the U.S. (To be sure, we're not usually on this side of the you can get it in one country but not another thing.)
Great work as always. Already looking forward to next Saturday.

Been looking for a dimmer like this for as long as I can remember. Ordered within minutes at the end of the video.

Arrives tomorrow.

longtime american follower of yours, converted my entire US home to smart dimmable switches . Moving to the UK, very excited to switch out every switch in my new UK home to these.

Hey Paul, how you doing came here to comment at seven minutes 10 seconds. Ha ha got me. I really was enjoying the details you were giving me. And then right at the end I was like I’m not electrician and you said.

I have 5 of these in wall dimmers in my house linked to my Hue bridge. Work faultlessly, and so nice to have normal looking and operating switches that don't confuse guests, but appear in GH and Homekit

THANK YOU for making me aware of these Paul, just bought the bare module and installed it into the three-gang switch for my front room spotlights to test. I will be buying some more and replacing the others.

These are exactly what I was looking for and have been contemplating for months.

Glad to see you put yourself out there Antonio. And for those who have not been to his channel you sure should. I’ve tried his recipes and they are 🔥.

Pretty cool stuff. Not sure I've ever seen a ZigBee light switch and obviously not a dimmable plug. I hope more providers create these in the future. Great video as always! Glad you are back!

God, it's been 3 weeks and it just popped into my head "gee, Paul hasn't posted in a while"

I know what the hell that weird Tesla channel I was suddenly subbed to was.

Glad to see you're back.

It likely wouldn't have helped in this case, but if you have a fishy file run it through a site called virus total. You can upload the file and it runs it through a few dozen antivirus programs all at once.
