The struggle for power between Republican state lawmakers and Democratic Governor Roy Cooper is continuing to rage on.

In less than 48 hours, the House has managed to pass several controversial bills:

- House Bill 239 moves the Court of Appeals from 15 judges to 12.
- House Bill 240 and 241 gives the North Carolina General Assembly the power to appoint superior and district court judges, taking that power away from Governor Cooper.
- House Bill One Hundred allows Superior and District Court Judicial elections to be partisan.

These bills come as North Carolina continues to deal with the redistricting controversy.

Bob Hall, the Executive Director for Democracy North Carolina joined Roland Martin on NewsOne Now to discuss the ongoing battle for North Carolina during Friday's edition of NewsOne Now

This is a huge opportunity for Roy Cooper. He's the sympathetic one in this situation - go tour the state, and present your vision.

When folks ask why you're not work - through the State House under the bus.
