🚨SPOILER ALERT🚨

The man and woman are a married couple. When a devastating earthquake hits Korea, they are one of the few people who survive and also suffer little damage to their home which is an apartment. Survivors flock to the apartment building which is the only standing shelter with supplies like food, water, and a generator for as far as the eyes can see.

As it is when people are put through difficult times and become desperate, when they are scared and simply wish to survive, they do terrible things. The man himself makes bad choices and decisions in order to protect his wife and home. A fight breaks out at the apartment as people reach their breaking point and the man is stabbed in the process.

The couple escape from the fight, abandoning their home in order to survive. They venture out into the broken city having only each other to call their own. When it becomes too dark and his wound hurts so much that he struggles to go any further, they climb into an enclosed space, remnants of a church, and fall asleep.

Before they sleep, they stare into each other's eyes and he gives her a hair clip he picked up in order to gift it to her before the chaos unfolds.

They fall asleep in each other's embrace, but when the woman wakes up, the man has passed away. His wound hadn't received treatment, it was freezing outside, and they barely had any food or supplies. It just breaks her and us to know that he did everything to protect her, the good and the bad, but she just wanted him by her side, and now he is gone forever.
