Man I miss my childhood… we took the TGV almost every summer holiday from Frankfurt to Avignon and I’ll never forget the moment we arrived… the warm air in the evening, the smell, the sound of all the cicadas and of course this SNCF sound. In that moment I just knew everything is perfect

It's even better irl with the bass of the speakers and the resonance of the train station

Truly the most Friench of jingles.... I love it- pure, light melody.

It's so different from average train station sounds. Reminds me of my great vacations in France.

Today I got back from Marseille by TGV and had this sound in my head for 2 hours now. Great jingle

I remember as a kid, 14 years ago, travelling from Gare de Lyon to Besançon. Would hear that jingle constantly while waiting at the platform before departing. Great memories

I love hearing that first jingle whenever I'm in France.

I love how weirdly sexy this sound logo is. It's the most French thing I can imagine.

A good sonic logo is probably the most powerful form of advertising there is, and this is a fantastic example.

this is rattle that lock background theme from david gilmour. I firstly went to Colmar by train and heard the sound, then heard the song and made the connection in my head. I feel pretty proud for that

So apparently, there's a David Gilmour song called Rattle That Lock which uses this a start of the melody which I thought was pretty cool.

Whatever it takes to break
Gotta do it
From the Burning Lake or the Eastern Gate
You'll get through it

Rattle that lock, lose those chains
Rattle that lock, and lose those chains
Rattle that lock, and lose those chains
Rattle that lock

Let's go do it
Have it all our way
Go back to where we blew it
And lose our heads along the way

So long sin, au revoir chaos
If there's a Heaven, it can wait
So long sin, au revoir chaos
If there's a Heaven

Rattle that lock

Rattle that lock, lose those chains

Rattle that lock

Rattle that lock, lose those chains

And all the other travelers
Become phantoms to our eyes
The furies and the revelers
The fallen angels in disguise

No discord, chance or rumor
Is going to interrupt this place
No discord, chance or rumor
To interrupt this

So let's get to it
It's calling like a flame
Through the darkness and the night
The world suspended on a golden chain

No discord, chance or rumor
Is going to interrupt this place
No discord, chance or rumor
To interrupt this

Rattle that lock
Rattle that lock, lose those chains

Rattle that lock

Rattle that lock
Rattle that lock, lose those chains
