I use it like a game. I don’t do video games, I Duolingo. It’s fun but I haven’t learnt much. Particularly with the upgrades; all the feedback is gone.

I started learning Russian there 3 months ago. It gave some good (I think) basics, but at this point, it's no longer useful. There are no lessons, per se, just rote word learning, with the only actual grammar lessons being from observation & deductive reasoning based off of their sentence structures. There is no guidance, so I'm unsure if what I'm learning is even close to accurate. I come here to see your videos and actually learn.

Это на самом деле очень забавно, потому что я научился этому у Дуолинго!

I'm learning German, Russian, Arabic. I find it very useful. I studied German for 8 years but never used it. Now I can speak to my wife's German family. My Arabic is sketchy at best but i am learning the sounds and vocabulary. The Russian is going well. The alphabet and the sounds are useful. Used in tandem with my Rosetta, I will be fine.

C'mon, I'm almost done with the Russian course!😢

It helps to memorize things when you start learning, and it's quite fun. But it's not useful to get fluent in any language.

i'm in duolingo and i've learned everything there but saddly duolingo has changed before was better, now is all about clicking words not writing i found out that writing is what made me remember the words most the tree is messed up too. before there was a forum where native russians explained things in every sentence now thats gone too, my guess is that they are trying to sell his duolingo for schools. duolingo works(or worked) i understand almost everything what i read in just less that 2 years. of course my vocabulary is short but i understand almost everything and now i'm focused in learning more words the cases and all other stuff is already learned

Duolingo could be great. I only like it when I could love it. Some of their courses are lacking like the Russian course and the Arabic course. I strongly dislike that they took away the grammar section (the “tip” section that looked like a lightbulb). But it was good enough for me to get the basics. And now with your lessons Daria the Duolingo lessons make more sense! So thank you!
And I love the screenshot you saved. That’s one of my favorite sentences.

I want to learn Russian really bad. I’ve taken a few classes and watched your YouTube videos and others. Used apps too. I’m still struggling. Maybe It’s because I’m a English speaker I don’t know. All I know is I’m going to keep trying and hopefully it will click. It’s a beautiful language.

Russian is good its good to know the basics and pronouncing the letters good

I do actually...but it's getting really confusing because they don't explain why the words change the way they change in a sentence... So I don't think my Russian is getting better.😅
It helps with getting familiar with words and some structures and also helps you get better with guessing the main point of sentences.

It's been good enough to learn new words but I gotta admit it's been complete dogshit for grammar and understanding of the language :') Duolingo will actually tell me I'm wrong for example if I don't use a very specific order for words but as you said in a video Russian language does not have a word order because they use cases instead. But I still need to use the cases in duolingo as well except they don't really explain anything about it either so I'm double lost because of that course :')

Unless you are learning french or spanish dont use it as your "only" source of learning

It’s a good support tool, but definitely not the end all be all!
