If you do this in 12/8 it is easy to figure out

Hello Jay. Ha-very good. Since "pass the butter "is 3:2 I do use that to get 4:3, but I use different word before "butter", not "bread &".

How do I, as an absolute beginner (I’m on Day 0 - about to begin) pick this up? I struggle to get my hands to do the different speeds seemingly out of synch (except for #1)

This polyrhythm sounds more like 3/4 than 4/4 when you put the phrase “pass the bread and butter” over it.

The ‘P’ in ‘pass’, the ‘B’ in ‘bread’, and the ‘B’ in ‘Butter’ are hard consonant sounds that add a strong percussive element to the rhythm, making the 3/4 beat more audible than the 4/4 beat.
