Inspired by the official music video for 'Hero' by Nickelback. I like the music video a lot because besides seeing the band perform, it also splices in various shots from the movie itself. I decided I wanted to take that as a starting point and turn it into a full tribute of the original Spider-Man movie.

Fun fact: when I was 6 my dad told me not to watch spider man because I was very young but I didn't listen to him and when my dad and mom were gone and my baby sitter was sleeping I watch it and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made and I got away with it so good that my mom and dad didn't find out 12 years later after we got done watching no way home.

People understate the significance of Spider-Man as a massive part of the healing process for America after 9/11.

The film was shot in 2001 and was subsequently released in June of 2002. This was the first big budget american return to theatres, and it was set in New York City. The mood at the time was glum and pessimistic, perhaps even uncertain. Now we sit down in theatres to Hero by Nickelback. The lyrics of which intentionally or unintentionally are an ode to the mindset at the time "look what love gave us, a world full of killing and blood spilling, that world never came."
"Im so high I can hear heaven, but heaven, dont hear me."
I mean, the song is practically an ode to the world trade center and the attacks.
But never fear because we have a hero to save us. Then we get the film of Spider-Man. But he isnt even the real hero, at the end when he is about to be defeated, the city of New York stand up to save him. "This is New York, you mess with one of us, you mess with all of us."
Brilliant film, and pivotal for New Yorks healing.

My favorite is Spider-Man 2 but in my opinion I feel like Spider-Man 2002 is starting to become really underrated honestly it just feels like not a lot of people talk about it as much as Spider-Man 2 and awesome edit man made me cry

Great tribute. As good as the MCU can be, I don't think even the best MCU film (Tom Holland's Spider-Man movies included) can touch Raimi's Spider-Man movies. These films were well-made, with tight scripts, good actors, and for me the defining quality that these movies have that the MCU lacks; sincerity. These movies weren't afraid to be quiet and vulnerable, to be understated in moments when it benefited the stories. The MCU always feels like it has to be huge and bombastic, when I wish at times it would have some moments of subtlety.
