Only those who aren’t secure in their own beliefs are threatened by other’s ideas. Learning comes in steps and if you don’t understand step 1, it’s very unlikely you will understand the depth of these ideas. C.S. Lewis also had ideas that were new or different. Find comfort in the fact that everything is connected. Not understanding one philosophy does not threaten what you currently deem to be true. You will learn and grow but only when you are ready. Not feeling threatened and keeping an open mind is the key.🥰

I guess the only way to get closest to the real nature of any particular passage of scripture, is not to be married to your own beliefs or doctrines...but instead look to the original texts, before any historical alteration or transliteration. You also have to take into account the style of writing being used and the symbolic nature of ancient Greek/Hebrew scholarly writing. I know it's hard, believe me, I was raised a fundamentalist christian but needed to address the discrepancies

Why didn't you tell what Jesus meant or at least your best heartfelt explanation of the bible? Isn't that more important than being right or making another wrong?

I don't believe Tolle understands God in the True way- what he is understanding as the Presence that is in all of us and everywhere is the Holy Spirit. Based on what he says, he believes that we are all one being (God). No matter how enlightened we are, we can't 'see' God or Jesus, but we become aware of what we have here on Earth. He calls God "being" and being- ourselves and all of us at the same time. The truth is, we are all one in the body of Christ which is the Holy Spirit. That's where he gets the understanding that we are all in one, he is mistaken in the notion that we are God though. I understand why he believes this though, he isn't wrong in his Knowing at all, just his explanation of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit as it's impossible to describe the Truth in words.
