Hey Artnerds! Today we're taking a look at Yarka St Petersburg watercolors! I compare these brilliant watercolors to St Petersburg White Nights as well as Yarka Student watercolors.

Available in pans or 10 ml tubes (much smaller color range-12 total colors)

Not the same as the Yarka St Petersburg (I have the old 24 set, and can do a comparision upon requesteion)

“White Nights” are professional watercolours of the highest quality that combine old masters' traditions and modern production techniques. The paints are produced of the finely ground pigments and binders adding Gum Arabic which is recognized as the best natural adhesive for professional watercolours. The colours have high intensity colour hues, which do not tone down even when much water is added. This is provided by the high concentration and fine grit of a pigment. The paints have perfect mixing, smearing and spreading qualities. The palette consists mostly of mono pigment and lightfastcolours.Available in sets of 12, 16, 24, 36, 48 colours in 2,5 ml pans, 12 colours in 10 ml tubes and in assortment of 64 colours in 2,5 ml pans. Also manufacture Lagoda and Sonnet watercolors

Different grades available from Nevskaya Palitra, this is the highest grade and still quite affordable

NOTE: St Petersburg and Leningrad are the rebranding for Yarka. Leningrad is trying to distance itself from the original Yarka name.

Back in the mid 90's, I picked up a set of watercolors that were sold at Meijer supermarkets called "Yarka" that were sold as a student grade set of semi-moist watercolors and I enjoyed what I got out of the set I bought then.

Also, the semi-moist nature seems to be from the honey, not sure if you mentioned that. I actually had a pan ooze out on a humid day when I left the palette on its side too long in my bag - oops!!
