As a developer I absolutely love the way that you analyze everything that went right or wrong and draw conclusions that you can actually work on. You don't pretend anything is out of your control and it's really motivating!

I've been coding on Roblox for 5+ years now. I remember when I started all I heard was, "Don't start with a big game!". So, of course I went ahead and tried too anyway. Luckily, I realized my mistake and made a simple obby game. I can stress enough how important it is to start with a simple game before moving on to a bigger game.

I've been developing a vampire survivors game with randomized items for almost a year now and I'm going to start posting videos about it soon. It was very insightful to see how important early player retention is. Thanks for the video man, I love your positive attitude!

Honestly, the 2nd game you created could've been a banger. The real attention-grabbing games on roblox are the games that are easily understandable, such as having the goal of the game right in your face, replayable with or without multiplayer, and could run on mobile devices. If you had spent a little more time on polishing your 2nd game, it really could've been a big hit. Just look at Blade Ball. Different game style, but similar concept. Easy to understand and very replayable on PC and mobile devices. I also have a few ideas of games I want to create, but I suck at coding, so it's gonna take a pretty long while. But I do hope you come out with a banger one day.

long time roblox player here - it's really refreshing to see you make these games, so much of the front page is clogged with poorly made games that are often made just with the goal of making as much money as possible, similar to mobile games. you making these games is so cool, because you're actually bringing NEW ideas to the table rather than crappy ideas like simulators that have been done a billion times. good luck with your future games! :)

People saying it looks janky and boring miss the fact that you're actively improving your game and your knowledge on how to do so, which by it self is more then those people will ever do in their entire life. Keep it up man, wish you the best of luck developing!

Your concepts and execution are really really good. My one tip for you is to consider playing the game through an entirely fresh lense. If it doesn’t “feel” good to play as a player, like janky animations or confusing UI that will kill the game even if the concept and execution are almost perfect. I’m late to the party with this one but that’s my advice for you.

For some games that focus on communities(like the bloxworld game), I think advertising through large content creators is better to show off. Content creators generally take out the boring parts and highlight fun parts, also bringing along a large fanbase

I've been a roblox dev since like 7 years old
Sad thing is though my lazy ass never completes a game and ontop of that I cant be bothered to switch from roblox studio to unity.
With that being said, I admire your interest in roblox studio and how you can switch so easily. Love the video!

As a developer for a fairly big Roblox game a few years back (10.2M total visits), I will say as good of a platform Roblox is (considering free servers, free developing studio, etc.) when it comes to game releases, it's unfortunately very luck-based. Roblox does not give much of a helping hand towards smaller developers/developer teams, so if you release a really, really good game, there's a very high chance 99% of Roblox players will never know of it, ever. If people do end up catching on, it's through outside means, whether it's discord server(s), big YTers, etc. Ads are a great way to get your game out there to the roblox community, however, the biggest downside with Roblox ads is that many times *big* developers with hundreds of thousands of Robux will buy 10s of thousands of ad spots that block many, many smaller devs who buy a few dozen ads or even 100 ads.

It's a very, very difficult time to get yourself up on the "ladder" when it comes to Roblox developing. If there's something I've personally learned with developing; knowing people is the best way to get yourself out there. Reaching out to people, getting to know people, etc.

You had some awesome and unique ideas! That alone is a plus for developing on Roblox, many developers, even big time ones, now rely their entire development process around trends. Keep it up!

One thing I would try fixing is the UI in the game. It seems to be the make or break for the game. I love the idea and it can definitely work! Keep up the good work!
