Over 66 million years ago, a city-size asteroid struck the planet and brought a terrible end to the reign of dinosaurs. The impact was so powerful that it released about a billion times more energy than the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and a million times larger than the largest nuclear bomb ever tested.

As a result, only few creatures survived and around three-quarters of all species went extinct – including the dinosaurs.

So with all that said, that brings us to the question we have on our mind now. What if the impact never happened and the dinosaurs never went extinct? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to see dinosaurs (like T-Rex or Velociraptor) in our world today? Would they just eat us to extinction? Or what if an asteroid never struck the earth and dinosaurs still roamed the world? Would humans still exist or would evolution have taken a totally different turn?

We can’t turn back the clock to truly see what would exist now without that extinction event, but it’s highly unlikely that the age of mammals would have happened. None of this evolution that leads to humans would have been possible without the extinction of the dinosaurs.

I would actually argue that if dinosaurs suddenly went back to life among us (technically speaking they already are. All birds are dinosaurs. But anyway) our biggest issue wouldnt be trexes trying to eat us. One of the biggest problems that jurassic park movies has is that to thosa giant predatory monsters, a human would hardly make a dent in their hunger, and would not be worth the energy spent to chase us. It would be like a human hunting house mice for food. Yes they could do that, but only in desperate situations where they cant find any other food. But if there are other dinos around, we wont be their primary target. What would be a big problem for us would be the deinonychus (the velociraptors of jp movies) they are slightly bigger than humans, which makes us an excellent food source for them. It would be more difficult to run away from them because they are faster and can enter buildings to chase us. And even if they didnt eat us directly, we would be competing for resources with them since they would eat essentially what we also consider food like cows and sheep

if the asteroid impact never happened, there would be more animal and plant life today since most were wiped out due to that asteroid 66 MYA plus non avian dinosaurs still would eventually go extinct, just not all of them some would evolve.
