AI in China: Computer-generated 'people' used for promotions

In China, virtual humans – or computer-generated people – are increasingly being used to sell products online, engage with social media users, and even read the news.

Al Jazeera's Katrina Yu reports from Beijing on how advances in artificial intelligence are changing the Chinese online experience.

Eventually movies and television shows will use virtual actors. The technology began to develop in the 1990's with the goal of replacing human actors. A few "non-human" movies were made to test the concept. It's a smart move, as once created, there's no longer a need to pay expensive actors and no bad publicity. It's a NEW WORLD we're heading in to.

Cartoons for kids are drawn from real life people. Example Olaf Scholz as in Frozen Olaf visual resemblance, but themes topics situations in cartoons and Hollywood movies are based on real data collected/stolen from real people. Busines that all.
