ARABIAN NIGHTS - Female Cover | JASMINE’S VILLAIN SONG | Aladdin

So Arabian Nights from Aladdin is making the rounds on TikTok atm and I can’t stop singing it so in an effort to remove the ear worm I have recorded it.

I’ve decided this is the song Jasmine would sing if she took over Agrabah and turned into the villain. Like she’s killed Jafar, locked her father in prison and rejected Aladdin to rule the kingdom by herself and the power has absolutely gone to her head. There’s been a revolution and the people rose up with her and now Agrabah is burning and we end the film with her singing this song and its all come full circle. I would watch that film, Jasmine was already a boss but I wanna see that character arc for her.

I hope you enjoy my cover of Arabian nights! And sorry not sorry if you only just stopped singing this after having heard it a thousand times on tik tok ✌️

You best believe I would back a villain arc for Jasmine in a heart beat. I vote no more live action remakes - instead remakes of all princesses as villains 👑 😈

Why doesn’t Disney give us a “what if” series with the princesses as villains? That would be cool!

Her voice proved you don't need a deep voice to be powerful, feminity is also very powerful and very magnetic

I can imagine the animation sequence to this:

It starts just before the picture with Jasmine surveying her land. On "another Arabian night" she's turned around at leant back on her bannister, revelling in her power. Then Jasmine pushes off and walks into her palace, taking her crown off as she does so. She clicks, and a servant appears with a pillow onto which she throws her crown. She walks through her busy palace with servants and courtiers rushing around and coming up to her with various things. Some spices to review or document to approve and she clicks and slaves appear to fulfil her every wish. Like more jewellery or another, bigger crown or something. Then, by "Arabian nights/Like Arabian dreams" she has gone through a secret passage or to the cellars of the palace, still confidently strutting along. By "Let darkness unfold" she has reached her destination. She sings "Your destiny lies in your hands" as she presses a secret button or taps out a code or something. She stands in front of the door and we hear the deep warning. Meanwhile the door dramatically sweeps open on its last sentence. She doesn't care. She knows. Self-assured, she walks in down the dark tunnels until she emerges into the glimmering treasure cave. Cue maniacal villain laugh perhaps.

The concept of an evil Jasmine is such a cool one! Disney movies train us to just trust the princess but having the princess be the secret villain is such a fantastic idea for a movie.

I can sort of imagine her story:
Jasmine, the princess (is that what they're called in the movie?) of Agaraba. A face of perfection. Since the death of her mother, she's been locked away. Concealed. The voice of the people was stripped away, which sent them into poverty, and people grew resentful of the current royalty. Jasmine spends her days locked in the palace with Raja (and for the sake of the live action) and Dahlia. Every day, she's reminded the girls like her can never rule, can never fix the mess the men broke. Her people are starving... And she's fed up. Jasmine's resentment builds up, more and more, until she finally snaps. She and Raja assassinate Jafar in secret, becoming her father's heir to the throne since there was no other choice. She meets Aladdin in the markets, and instead of hiding, immediately shows who she is to sway him to her side. She promises to him and more of the people that once she's in charge, poverty will he lifted, and eventually she tries to marry Aladdin. Her father tries to intervene, but Raja is able to intimidate him into silence, giving time for the two to wed. Her father is forced to resign, and Jasmine takes the crown, since Aladdin is insecure about his ability to rule. Suddenly having a twisted mindset from being suppressed all her life, she asserts her dominance by locking away her father in the dungeons (the people are never told, they believe he is in critical condition in the palace). She is the favorite of the people, and everybody bends to her will on their own accord. She quickly rises to power, toppling empires ruled by unjust leaders and building alliances with the others. To her dismay, Sherobah (how do I spell this), her mother's kingdom, falls victim to a twisted male ruler, and Jasmine vows to free them, only destroying the kingdom instead. Aladdin thinks she's taking this too far and frees her father, only for the people of Agarabah to rise up and revolt, eventually killing Jasmine's father. Jasmine sends Aladdin into exile, and lives her life as the sultan. Aladdin eventually returns as Prince Ali, unbeknownst to Jasmine, to try and gain her trust back to save Agarabah. Jasmine eventually catches wind of this, and during the magic carpet ride, she shoves him off into the ocean, killing him. Or so she thought. She eventually found the lamp and used the genie to build up her kingdom and become a force to be reckoned with. This eventually sparks tensions between her and an ally, starting a war, which only ends when Aladdin is revealed to be alive. He steals the lamp back and makes the last wish to curse her throne (whoever sits on this next will be given bad luck), to give her bad luck, in hopes she'll lose the war and maybe come to her senses. This backfires beautifully, as it turned out that the prince of the opposing kingdom had planned a peace meeting, and he dies. Jasmine catches wind of what Aladdin is doing, and poisons his drink after a heart wrenching argument. However...she drinks it instead and dies. Aladdin is left to pick up the pieces of his kingdom, which was broken at the hands of who he thought he loved.

Is this good or nah, I might go on Wattpad

Edit: MOM IM FAMOUS

Like, Jasmine would sing this while watching some travelers suffer from the heat and thirst of Arabia from the view of the magic carpet that she obtained from Alladin by luring him into the desert and threatening him that if he didn't give her the carpet she would leave him in the desert. Then the innocent travelers fall into a trance, and become Jasmine's loyal servants-no, more like prisoners. She would make them go to war, and she'll soon become ruler of the whole world.

she would actually be the perfect antagonist for Aladin and she definitely seems like the bad guy who would use her looks. I always love dedication.

The music starts as the camera closes on from a far shot of the palace, a balcony jutting out from the side of a tall tower. You hear the soft clicking of heels before Jasmine appears, bathed in deep crimson colored cloth and jewels. She begins to sing, walking towards the ledge of the balcony. As she gazes upon her new kingdom she smiles. She gracefully climbs the railings, never even worried about falling. Raja stalks close behind, letting out a soft growl. Jasmine looks back over her shoulders and glares before snapping her fingers as she steps off the ledge, a carpet, Aladdin's carpet, flies to her, worn and tired. It carries her through the dark, unmarred skies. As she glides through the marketplace, you see shop keepers and families alike lock their doors and draw their curtains. She spots a delicate shawl, full of deep and rich colors, she gently picks it up, feeling the quality slip between her fingers. She hums before dropping it onto the ground and flying forward. She flies far out into the dunes, rolling her eyes as she recalls the words the genie spoke to her. She was powerful. More in control of her life than she ever was. Her destiny DID lie in her hands. She reaches a familiar spot, and pulls two halves of a scarab beetle pendant from the folds of her clothes. A massive rumble shakes the sand beneath her as a figure emerges from the sand. A deep, rumbling voice fills the empty air, making her smile. She is much more than a diamond in the rough, she's powerful. Bold. As she walks deeper, you see a slumped figure, hands in all encompassing shackles, and an oil lamp, a few feet away from the prisoner, just out of reach. As she gazes upon Aladdin with a soft smile. Above else, she is no fool.

I could see this. No Jafar or he serves her. She wants the throne but can't have it because she's a woman. Goes for the lamp herself to get the throne. Aladdin is just her pawn. No redemption arc and she wins in the end. I think it would make a great adult series. A new princess every season.

This song always gives me the chills, it’s something about Arabic music in minor keys…amazing as always!

Edit: I’m very sorry for calling it “Indian” music, I have done very little to no research regarding Arabic culture/music. I did not intend for it to be offensive to anyone, but I can see how my ignorance would put it that way. I will better educate myself from here on out. I hope you can forgive me, thank you.

This reminds me of the book " A Whole New World" by Liz Brazwell. " what if aladdin never found the lamp?"
