Tbh, if this concept was expanded to include not just anime plastic models, but mecha, vehicles, etc, and included some sort of optional paint & sticker mechanic, it could be sold as a $20-$30 game.

This is quite nice. The two main detractors of this hobby is financial drain and frustration, which are eliminated here, and the only thing I'm really missing is the smell. It's also way better for the environment. It'd be cool if this was so mainstream that there's hundreds of models you can download and build, with an active community creating more of them.

Unironically a good idea and proof of concept. Modeling kits exist for a reason, they are extremely relaxing. They aren't free though and often times lack freedom and can only be done once. I can honestly see virtual modeling kits (maybe have a display area that is accessible in VRChat or something to show what kits you had completed) taking off if you make it fun enough and maybe have customization options of like choosing what paints and such you would like to use even if it go against the instructions. Like a legit possibility of screwing up even though being a virtual game you can always just grab a spare piece out of nowhere or heck maybe even use the broken piece anyway just to see if you can get it to work. I might be in a tiny niche but I used to love solving 3D puzzle pieces until I memorized them then try to solve them but intentionally without one of the pieces just to see how far I can get. I find seeing how bare minimum you can get to be fun sometimes. I think there is a ton of potential in this and if you have the framework for it made already then you should see how far you can take it.

"Draw with me" was the very first piece I saw and a core memory was formed. I know not the person behind the acct but I've kept up with their content for over a decade now.

Game design wasn't where I saw them going but I'm all for it. Chase that bliss.

I actually really really love this concept! The relaxing vibe of it makes me see this as an otaku version of Lego Builder's Journey and I'm all for it. It would be absolutely awesome to see this get made into a full game where there are multiple models that are all original characters belonging to in-universe manga and anime IPs, I would totally pay money to play that 🥺
