This blue metallic Mazda has been into our shop before for repairs. This time a front end collision resulted in a few replaced panels, a few repaired dents and a complete paint job on the front end.

I know this is a really old video, but so far after days of watching videos on blending. This by far the best I have seen that shows the correct technique on how to blend a panel. Very nice work!

Damn dude, the end result looks f'ing killer. I've never seen such a skill around here, it is always terribly thick looking paintjobs. Great job.

The camera that you have used in the past is fine on my pc...but my pc is 4 years old..
Its just a thought, It would be nice if you could give "roughly" the amount of paint and clear that you use on a job.It just makes it easier for us novices to understand amounts and try to copy your great technique. I cant tell you how much you have helped me develop my techniques, Its not just pointing a gun, you use your brain as well...So many many thanks, keep up the superb vids...

This is the first time I've ever seen a car being painted, I also never thought to look it up. I wish I had the skill and the patients to do this but I can't do it. I've tried with hundreds if spray paint cans on different things and it always looks terrible. How do all body shop painters do a perfect job every time? You may say it's not perfect but I have an eye for detail and I've looked up close at fresh paint jobs and they look absolutely perfect. Is it magic or what??

We have a purge timer that pauses a few mins before the heat actually comes on but I don't think this clear requires it. I like to give it a couple minutes personally.

I've been smashi g the wetbed clips to improve my jobs: my projects are VW Reflex and Toyota Millennium silvers.

A constant problem I'm having is application of either basecoat into the wetbed. Everytime I attempt this the whole thing just starts to sag, or the metallics look way off. Now I know you're going to come straight bavk with I'm laying too much wetbed, or hammering the basecoat but this simply isn't the case.

FWIW I painted an entire hood base straight over sanded clear sealer and it came out perfectly.

In this video I notice (like all the others) you went straight i to that wetbed with the are you getting away with it??

Any tips greatly appreciated.

Around $300-400 maybe, I can't picture a mustang roof and the work involved right now but sand and paint a roof is somewhere around that.
