I spent quite a bit of time on this one, but since it's one of my favorites it was worth it. There are a couple other similar videos on youtube but I figured I could improve upon them a bit. So much, yet so little footage to work with.

“The shot that was heard all around the world.” This was and still is my favourite track but the Human League. I remember the day it happened, watching the news and then the funeral on a blurred black and white screen as a young child, aware of the emotions around me and knowing that someone famous had been murdered, aware of the sombre atmosphere and sadness around the funeral, but still unaware of the full significance. Some years later I when started secondary school, it was named John F Kennedy.

Timeless this beauty, bought the Dare album on Vinyl, played it endlessly, the whole Album still sounds as fresh today, HL could re release this and it wouldn’t sound 43 yrs old at all.One of the most iconic songs of the 80’s for me.

I was 10 years old and living in Madrid, Spain. I remember exactly the moment that I heard the news, that would alter the future. A beloved leader, had been senselessly murdered. My parents were on the way to their Square Dance Class. My brothers and I were hanging out with the maid. Shortly before my parents were to leave, the news flash came on. Their class was cancelled. It was almost like time stopped. In some ways, we had lost our innocence. A day that changed society, a generation and much more. Long live John Kennedy. In less than a minute, your whole world can change. Paid a visit to the location of the event during Summer 75. A very moving experience. Also saw the grave when we came back stateside, during June 65.

I was listening to Dare all the way through for the first time ever in Villajoyosa, Spain and it was good up until this track came on and I was like WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS SHIT. Album went from a 7.5/10 to a 9/10 immediately in my opinion.

This was also the b-side of Don't You Want Me as well as from Dare. I remember it well because my sister bought the single & got annoyed when I'd borrow it to play this track. One of their best tracks & the start of my life long obsession with the JFK assassination. Kudos for creating this.
