Why Lord Shen is an EXCELLENT Villain | Video Essay

Kung Fu Panda 2 is a movie I adore, and one of the reasons I love it so much is because of its villain, Lord Shen. I've made a video discussing Tai Lung, so now, it's time for Shen to get his turn. In this video, I go over my thoughts an analysis on the character and the film. Hope you all enjoy :)

Remembered this series recently and rewatched it, and the parental trauma of Tai Lung and Shen was so relatable to me, i was surprised at how emotional I was. (Granted, I didn’t turn into a serial killer lmao but the grief I saw in them was familiar) Growing up and going through what I did made me look at these characters so differently and appreciate them more

1: Tai Lung(Amazing)
2: Lord Shen(Great(not saying he's bad, Tai Lung just happened to have a small edge over Lord Shen in terms of Presence)

Y’know despite not being much of a physical fighter, he still managed to beat two masters of Kung Fu *VERY* easily with just his witts and weapons, and if im being honest? Had Shen not had his canon dropped on him? I feel he would’ve killed Po during that final fight

I am certain that Lord Shen is easily the best written and complex villain in the trilogy and of the best characters ever. Unlike Tai Lung and Kai Shen's conflict with Po is personal. He is Po's dark and twisted reflection who couldn't make the right choice, who couldn't get over his past, who couldn't change himself, who didn't find his inner peace and thus took the path of destruction, ruining lives of others and his as well

Alright, this video had lots of effort and a good thumbnail. Easpecially for a new youtuber. Though I'll have to say there were some downsides. For example, this video felt more informative than analytical. You were telling me more of the plot of Kung Fu Panda 2 rather than the analysis. I get that it's a video essay but to make it on youtube, you need to bring something new to the table. So a way to do this would be to fully analyze Shen's character more thoroughly. To put that into perspective would take an entire discussion, So I'll leave video essays by YouTubers who hit the mark, so you can improve your content.

I'd also advice you to buy a new microphone because your current one is lacking and so you can have a clearer voice. Since with your current mic, your voice can seem dull and when you show emotion it isn't as clear. (Please don't be offended, I'm not trying to be rude).While with a new mic, the quality of your content will go up and you'll stand out from the croud.

Finally, my final piece of advice would be to make a brand for yourself. Since I see that you put in a lot of effort into your videos and when you find a unique quality of your channel. I was really trying to not be mean in this comment and I see that you have a lot of potential. I hope you become a great youtuber and writer.
