My hosta would be burned to a crisp if it was in full sun here is Virginia. But, you are zone 5 and what a difference that makes! Dark side of the moon is such a vibrant astilbe, a definite try next spring.

I love the dark leaves and the beautiful bloom color. Definitely adding this plant to my bucket list for 2023. What would the bloom time be for SW Missouri, zone 6b?

I just bought 3 Dark side of the moon astilbe proven winners.
Do I need to prune these at all?
I have them in a shaded area on a garden that’s slopped.
