Body of man found along busy Cobb County road

Cobb County Police are investigating why a man was found shot to death on Austell Road Thursday night.
The man’s body was found near Austell Road and Whittington Parkway. Police said a man walking down the street discovered the body just after 9 p.m.
Police said the victim was a Hispanic male between 40 and 50 years old.
Investigators confirmed the man died from an apparent gunshot wound.
Neighbors in Overton Place across the street from where the body was found said they heard gunshots a half hour before the body was discovered.
Austell Road was closed for at least two hours because of the investigation.
