Faceoffs in hockey seem simple but can get confusing and complicated as well. Why do faceoffs happen? How do they decided where and when to do a faceoff? and WHY do players keep getting kicked out of them? Well the rules can help with some of those answers meanwhile the rest... well you'll see.

I know this is an older video. But I’m just catching up now! Even for someone who has been watching hockey for a little while it’s nice to get it broken down into the basics, especially with positions.

Just wondering if you could find the time to break down the same positionings but for special teams like 5 on 4, 5 on 3 and even 3 on 3 overtime. Defensive and offensive..
I understand the basics of how it works but it’s nice to have the visual of where players are “supposed” to be at certain times on the ice. Thanks man!

Lol I'm not new to hockey, been watching all my life. Came here for kicks and oh man I laughed so hard when you said (paraphrasing) "the wingers aren't supposed to touch each other before the puck drops XD. This is why enforcers exist in this game (to a much lesser extent now), the players police the game more than the refs.

"Why certain players get thrown out of the faceoff" well if its Nazem Kadri, its any reason the ref can possibly come up with at that moment, it doesn't even have to be logical lol
