Nitecore D4 charging problem

preview_player
Показать описание
I just observed this bug while trying to evenly wear out all the charging bays/slots on my Digicharger D4 by Nitecore. Is it just my unit or do your D4s also have it? Let me know in the comments!

P.S. People keep commenting RTFM. Please, point it to me. As far as I know, the claim is charge 1 or 2 batts @750mA. 3-4 @375mA. At least SOME people generously explained it calmly instead of shouting RTFM!!!!!!!.
P.P.S. Some people have all the time in the world to be so rude. Please, don't expect kindness to come your way soon. :)

Thank you for posting. I read the manual but must have missed this part. from my previous charger I would put the batteries in 2 and 3 and would charge at 2 amp very quickly. I appreciate your video as I may not have actually found this until much later. Have a good one!

1st 2 slots are bank 1, 2nd 2 are bank 2. If you put batteries in both banks it drops the rate down no matter how many batteries are in each bank. If you're only going to charge 2 batteries then uses 1&2 or 3&4

RTFM - Read the manual - this is not a problem it is written!!!!

That battery that you put in is a Nickle hydride battery. the cells for Rechargable Energizer and Duracells have to be set on LOW!

It does the exact same thing for me too. I might just be a programming in their models for a non toggled low charge rate for people who don't want to hold the mode button for both batteries to set them at 300 mA everytime they're set on the charger. (I like low charge current, my batteries don't heat up at all.) Check the manual and see if that's included, because I have the same problem with the middle two on mine but haven't seen anything in the booklet and that's the only explanation I can come up with.

i noticed the same thing on my charger, but using slot #1 & #4.
However I don't see it as a problem but a hidden feature, as I prefer to recharge as slowly as possible. since I have lots of batteries, I'm rarely in a hurry.
I'm not sure if 375ma is that much better for the batteries than 500ma, but it can't hurt, and may just give the batteries a longer life.

The two battert charging rates are as follows:

12: 750
13: 750
14: 375
23: 375
24: 750
34: 750

Yes, I tested this myself. This completely throws the banks being on 12 and 34 out the window, because this data literally shows that they are on 14 and 23.

Oh, also: Charging across two banks makes sure you get 750 on each cell, not just 375, far as I'm aware. I'll test with some more cells.

Mine keeps displaying "d4" and resetting the charging time to 0 when charging li-ion. At the same time, nimh can be charging just fine in the other slots.

It is not an issue/bug. But this is the name of intelegent charger. Because it has a different circuit board for each 2 slots

Bay 1 & 2 is separate from bay 3 & 4. If you wish to charge 2 cells use either bay 1 & 2 or 3 & 4, Simple. It's not a fault or a "bug" and if you had read the manual you would have known that. DUH.

There is nothing wrong with the charger or there is no bug. The charger supplies 750 mah if 2 bays are used. More than 2 bays, means the power sill be shared equally among all the bays one of the bay is not used. Further more, there is also a facility to recharge low power nimh batteries like those used in cordless phones. For this the Mode button should be pressed and held for a few seconds, all the 4 bays will give you 150 mah or 2 bays 300 mah. The important missing point is that there is no on/off button. The power plus should be removed to shut down the unit. A detailed documentation is required for this excellent and simple unit.

I noticed that you're charging double a batteries if you hold down the second button it will go to a low charging which is recommended for double and triple a batteries you should read threw the owners manual

LOL..You have to read the Owners manual... I hate videos that talk about problems, that are non existent....It is working just as it is designed to.

I have this charger and my doubt is: having 1800mAh NiMH batteries being charged at 375mAh, they will get the whole charge up to 1800? is charging and capacity a different thing? (sorry if is a dumb question)

It reads them as hank 1 and bank 2 and if both banks have a battery it takes the charge rate down.

Slot 1 and 3 are connected and 2 and 4 are connected. It's in the manual.

NITECORE D4 has 2 charging bank, each who giver max 750mA charging current. Depending on which slot to use, give result about using complete bank feature, or not. Just like prevent comment prove.
