Hi Mr Electron,

The video was great.

However, I recommend using LiFePO4 batteries for solar setup instead of Lead Acid batteries.

The thing is that Lead Acid batteries can offer only 50% Depth of Discharge and last only for 3 years.

LiFePO4 on the other hand can give 70% Depth of Discharge and last for around 20 years. Even if it is discharged more such as 80% to 90%, it will still come for 15 years.

You will need specific LiFePO4 compatible chargers and charge controllers to recharge LiFePO4 batteries but the investment pays back in the long run.

Solar controller looks like overkill for a single 180 panel. Fun project!

I have to say, some of getting my solar stuff sorted has taken the fun out of it... but that was what I wanted (right?) It just works.

I still screw around with some smaller stuff like a similar setup to this one, like for a gasoline pump for lawnmowers and atv and such. But that's done too.

I'd like to take two 12v car air compressors to keep my shop 80 gallon air tank charged... but haven't figured out how to limit run times to something like 8 minutes on/ 16 minutes off, running one at a time while the other cools off to keep from cooking the tiny compressors. All while keeping it cheap enough to be a fun project and not an investment.

Power 1500 W continuous it s enough to weld : aproximate - 40 A using welder invertor : its for very thin materials / for ex. For 80 A you need 2900 W ( 2, 9 kW)
