Hello friends,
After receiving a few requests to begin making Rav vast tutorials, I have begun recording a few beginners lessons.

This will be a multi part series discussing a variety of topics having to do with owning, playing and caring for a rav
This video goes through:
-Introduction to tongue drums/Rav
-The significance of the slit tongues
-Where to hit, and the different tones it creates
Part two, to be released soon, will begin to discus striking technique, scales and sound comparisons.

I am no expert, but more than happy to share my experience, gained from my time playing!

Youtube needs more ravdrum tutorials, great initiative! Not surprisingly though, most handpan tutorials can be used for the ravdrum too, and I also find darbuka rhythm tutorials great for inspiration.

Just ordered a e low Pygmy! I’m really excited to use this in my meditation and just getting lost in the sound. I hope to get brave enough to play for other people. We have a monthly jam in my community that’s open to anyone!

Thanks for all the great videos. They are very helpful. I've had my Rav for a few days. I find it difficult to strike the 2 tongues closest to my body to get a good sound from them. Do you have any suggestions?

I am wondering if you know of a glove that could be worn while drumming, to help someone with soft, 63 year old hands.

I would love to see a tutorial focused on non tonefield percussive strikes. Also non standard strikes are fun, like hitting with your nails or knuckles.
