‘Pose’ star Dominique Jackson discusses mentoring queer youth of color | Nightline

Jackson said that playing her character Elektra on “Pose” resurfaced personal trauma. The show’s iconic star Billy Porter shared last month that he’s secretly lived with HIV for 14 years.

Having lived through those times I barely got through Season 1 it was so emotional for me, yet I still loved it. I tried watching Season 2 & saw 2 episodes & had to stop it was too intense. Most of the stories are all too relatable. Dominique, Billy & the cast brought the well written scripts to life. I can't imagine what it was like to have to act them out like they did. True professionals, all of them!

I just finished watching this show for the 2nd time ❤ this show was so real and beautiful I remember crying with Pray and Blanca’s characters. I am not queer but I love to hear true stories express my empathy for others. It’s was bittersweet the show came to a end but the way each character truly related to their personal lives thoroughly was beautiful ❤❤ definitely will tune in for a 3rd time down the road for sure 🫶🏽

Ms. Dominique, the entire cast directors and producers gave us such a gift with “Pose!!”
Every single second of this groundbreaking show gave an emotional educational to the lives of a culture we had no idea existed and most Nee Yorkers ignored. Let me tell you I am this show opened and broke my heart. I laughed, I cried, I fumed, and mostly I learned. I can truly say that “Pose” is one of the most phenomenal shows to grace the screen, period!

I have watched POSE and can only say transgender women are everything...strong, beautiful, they fight...I want her to be my mum. I am no woman let me tell you...I don't know why human specie is so horrible..
