Good review. I’m 61 and discovered that I need to apply a slope with the equaliser, increasing high frequencies and reducing low ones to compensate for my loss of hearing sensitivity due to age. I like that these have a good equaliser and neutral balance by default. Most noise cancelling cans have an exaggerated bass that I find horrible. They have excellent performance at all frequencies, my Bose QC25 get a bit mushy at lower frequencies. I would class these as high grade cans, on a par with my Sennheiser HD600, once I enabled the equaliser. For a young person they would be fine without any equalisation. Mine are very comfy, well made, user replaceable battery and ear pads, and a very reasonable price.

I have these myself. I chose them for the replaceable battery as well as Cambridge Audio's reputation. I was very surprised with how great the sound is. Thanks for your review.

Previously, there was an unusual thumping noise when walking with noise cancellation enabled. However, with the latest firmware released by Cambridge Audio, all issues have been resolved, and the headphones now function flawlessly for me.

I don't *need* these, but.... I want them
I'm a slight Cambridge Audio fanboy, their products tend to be fairly well thought out, and they actively listen to their customers

Thank you! ❤
What is the quality of the low bass? I'm not an audiophile, which is why I'm asking. I prefer the sound of subwoofer bass; is that a good way to put it?
It might be inappropriate for me to request this since you are an audiophile; perhaps it's wiser to purchase them and return them if I don’t like them.

And the price is crazy cheap for the quality :-)

There are 2 things I don't like about them: overall size and material of earcups. They look kinda weird in comparison vs Sony for example when wearing in public. My ears get quiet sweaty when longer wearing, I would prefer a fabric alternative.
