I've lived in Everett Wa for 19 years and worked here for nearly 25 years and this is the first I'm hearing of this tragedy. Thanks A & E, I'll pass this story on to the community.

The police artist, and the memory of witnesses who helped make it, caught this guy. My heart goes out to the victim's families, and the family of this person. Can't imagine having to report family for a heinous crime.

My ❤ goes out to Gary's family. 😢😭🤧 People like him don't deserve to die like that.

I watched a video about this Paul Keller guy, and he and a few others are why I believe some people are born bad seeds. There truly was something wrong with him from day one. He’d never had a head injury, high fever, brain trauma, nothing. Genuinely good family, good parents. The “over-controlling” was them not letting him do exactly like he wanted, like beating up his siblings, destroying things in the house, abusing pets, driving the family car at age 7. The dude was simply born devoid of a conscience.

Remember this the next time someone talks about a polygraph - it was defeated by a 12 year old

Bone chilling...arsonists are sick..they like control and impact of their fires. We had one when I was growing up and spooked us all until they caught the guy..

Almost 40 years later and there are still these kind of troubled kids in Everett, Washington.

I wonder in what way they try a guy 30 years later for a crime he committed when he was 12. If he had been tried at the time he would have been tried as a juvenile.

10 years is no justice for a lifetime taken away from that poor firefighter and his family.

Wow, just autoplaying videos at work and this comes up. I went to EVCC, they have a tasteful memorial for the firefighter, always tugged on my heart seeing it. Small world.

Imagine, living with the weight of being the firefighter that was handed the other firefighters mask, to get oxygen.

I have lived in Everett since 1988.. I lived for 24 years at 2131 Grand avenue. I remember very well there was a fire that broke out in a garage just 1 block north of my apartment. And I remember going down to the fire with my neighbors and my girlfriend. I remember standing watching the fire department put the fire out and there was this one guy who didnt look like a neighbor. I didnt pay him any attention but I did recognize his picture later when the artist rendition was first put out... and then when he was arrested I did recognize him as the person I saw at the fire... paul keller...

10 years, that's disgraceful. He at least should have gotten a year for each he walked free

Right around the corner from me in Memphis a family dollar store manager "Paul Shaw, " set the store on fire to cover his theft from the safe and killed 2 firefighters. Truly sad

So sad and senseless. Just because someone is angry doesn't give them the right to burn someone else's building down!

Ten years? The legal system is a joke.
