Τα Κύθηρα της Δημιουργίας 8 - Δροσιά Τσέρη

Η Δροσιά Τσέρη γεννήθηκε στην Αθήνα . Σπούδασε Ιστορία της Τέχνης στο Πανεπιστήμιο της Γρανάδας. Ασχολείται με ζωγραφική, φωτογραφία, κατασκευές και κεραμική. Μετά τις σπουδές της άνοιξε τον εκθεσιακό χώρο “ΤΣΕΡΗ” στο Κολωνάκι όπου παρουσίασε εκθέσεις διαφόρων καλλιτεχνών.
Τα τελευταία εικοσιένα χρόνια ζει και εργάζεται στα Κύθηρα, όπου το 2011 δημιούργησε το Altana Art Shop στην είσοδο της Χώρας σε συνεργασία με τον Μιχάλη Πετρόπουλο. Σήμερα, μαζί με τη Γεωργία Τσέρη διατηρεί την γκαλερί “Follow your Art”, στο Καψάλι. Είναι ιδρυτικό μέλος της Πολιτιστικής Εταιρείας Κυθήρων και των Φωτογραφικών Συναντήσεων και μέλος της εικαστικής ομάδας Kithiriscus.

DROSIA TSERI artist and crafer, was born in Athens and studied History of Art at the University of Granada. She works in painting, photography, installation and ceramics. After her studies, she opened the TSERI art space in Kolonaki, Athens, where she put on exhibitions by various artists.
Over the last twenty-one years, she had lived and worked on Kyhtera, where in 2011 she created the Altana Art Shop at the entrance to Chora in collaboration with Michalis Petropoulos. Today, she runs the “Follow your Art” gallery in Kapsali with Georgia Tseri. She is a founder member of the Kythera Association and of the Photographic Encounters and a member of Kithiriscus art group.

DROSIA TSERI - Artist and Crafter in her own words.
I was born and raised in Athens during the 70's.
Thanks to gravity, I spent my childhood in a detached house surrounded by a huge garden; I adored the colours and the nature, I explored and observed.
This garden became my stepping stone for the quest of my relationship with art.
I studied history of art at the Faculdad de Granada Espana and I attended workshops and seminars in Italy and Greece on various forms of art.
I have been permanently living for the last 21 years on the Greek island of Kythera, where I maintain my personal art space.Observation of the daily life is the source of my inspiration to create stories that trigger emotion.
Thus, I construct playful imagery on materials like wood, clay, fabric and paper, where the main characters are the elements of nature; bold childishness, vivid colours, repeating symbols and patterns, so I can digest and reconstruct the natural world and stress the antithesis with our unnatural and artificial way of life.
My aspiration is the unhindered communication and expression of emotions, without limits and borders, without reason and reasoning.
The motion of the soul.
I participate in exhibitions since 1994, I am a member of the visual and performing arts group “kithiriscus”, a founding member of the cultural company of Kithira
and as of lately, I have been exposing in the gallery “follow your art”.
My creations can be found in various countries as well as in some organisations
